A one-of-a-kind silver and brass pendant celebrating the strength of Timorese women and the extraordinary weight they carry with grace.
Feto Forti means “Strong Woman” in Tetum, one of the official languages of Timor-Leste.
The pendant was inspired by women carrying heavy loads on their heads — a skill learned from an early age in Timor-Leste and in other parts of the world. Vegetables, water, building materials and stones are carried this way: practical necessities balanced with remarkable strength and grace.
Feto Forti is my reflection on that strength.
Hand-formed from sheets of sterling silver and brass, the pendant takes the form of a woman's head. At the back, her hair is gathered into a bun set with clear cubic zirconia in different sizes — an unexpected detail that gives the piece a flash of light as it moves.
Made as a celebration of women, resilience and the strength found in everyday acts.
